Sub-5-second cycle
Around 700 drives a working day in continuous use.
The fastest electromagnetic degausser Proton builds. A 1.5 Tesla pulse with a sub-five-second cycle turns high-coercivity media into a throughput problem rather than a bottleneck.
At roughly 700 or more drives a working day in continuous use, the T-1.5 is built for operations where volume is the constraint: national ITAD contracts, bulk refresh programmes and campuses disposing of thousands of devices at once.
The 1.5 Tesla field clears today's highest-coercivity platter media, and the software interlock is the detail that matters operationally. If a cycle fails to reach strength, the machine will not let an operator sign it off. That single behaviour removes the most common weakness in manual destruction processes: a human marking a job complete when the machine did not.

An under-strength cycle can never be signed off as complete.

The situations this is most often specified for, based on what we are asked to quote most often.
At a sub-five-second cycle, a full working day of continuous use is roughly 700 drives. Actual throughput depends on loading, logging and operator handling.
It compares the achieved field against the required strength at the end of every cycle. If the machine did not reach it, the cycle is not presented as successful and cannot be signed off as done.
It depends on the contract. If a tender, a customer or a group policy names an NSA-listed degausser, you need the T-4 or T-5. If the requirement is DoD or NIST and the volume is high, the T-1.5 is usually the better commercial answer.
